I really liked the book. I was unsure for the first 70 or so pages when it focused on Mary and Joseph longing to be together. I thought the entire book might just be a romance novel!!! But I seriously was surprised at how the author portrays them both with so much heat and passion. I agreed with everyone at bookclub that it was good to view them as normal people but maybe the mother of Mary was too proud.

I wasn't able to finish the last couple of chapters because I needed to return it to the library. But, it was great! I did enjoy reading it, and it helped me to see them as real people just like us.
